Infamous
I seem to be on a movie-watching spree lately, seeing as I have been watching on average 1 movie per week. High costs, considering I'm earning an intern's allowance.
Anyway, back to my thoughts on the movie. This is easily the best movie I have watched within this year. Probably can't even compare it this way, since the other movies I watched recently have been so lacklustre.
Let me give a background of this movie for starters. This can be seen as a "the making of" kind of movie, since it basically describes the experiences the author Truman Capote went through when researching for his book "In Cold Blood". He was captivated by a murder in a small Kansas town, and decided to write about it, in the process coming into contact with the 2 murderers.
Many people I know are not really interested in this kind of movies, since it is not of a lighthearted genre. But this movie really touched me. It wasted no time dawdling on useless scenes, and even all the words used were chosen carefully. All the actors were great, especially Daniel Craig, who played one of the murderers. (He's the new James Bond) He gave such a great performance that he was not just believable as the character, he WAS the person himself. After seeing this movie, I starting to think that he's under-utilized in James Bond. He brought the character to life, and I could feel the torment and confusion he was going through.
I really can't describe my thoughts about the movie in its entirety without describing the whole movie, and that would take so long. All I can say is that, all the characters came alive with the great acting and superb storytelling. The movie was a little less than 2 hours long, and it engaged me much more than the 2.5hr Pirates of the Carribbean. I'm afraid after this movie my expectations would only grow higher for the subsequent shows I watch.
I give this show 5 stars out of 5. Do watch it if you like thought-provoking stuff!
