A Letter to You
Dear You,
I'm not sure if you realise its you I'm talking about. I have been thinking about this long and hard, and I believe its time someone told you what we are feeling.
First off, none of us expect you to put us in first place in your life; everyone who has known you for 1 day knows who that space belongs to, perhaps even the next ten spaces are reserved for people associated with the person in first place. All we have wanted from you was just attendance, and I must say, the times when you deign it fit to grace us with your presence has been few and far between. Perhaps you feel you have outgrown us, but its just plain rude to ignore every single sms and call we made to you on the day itself, without even giving us a single bit of clue on whether you would turn up or not. To me, that just shows you don't even care enough to think of an excuse for your absence. Note: if you plan not to turn up, don't call me up out of the blue to promise that you will most definitely appear, then make me look like a fool for standing by you even when everyone else has decided that you couldn't be bothered to turn up.
To say the truth, I have always admired you. You were one of the first intelligent, outspoken people I have met who really had opinions about things. Your faith made up a big part of your life, perhaps even shaped you into what you are today. I have always been proud of how you could achieve the goals you set. However, your faith has also been one of the contending points in our friendship. Perhaps the rest of us secular fools can never understand the spiritual enlightenment you receive, but at least we understand enough about friendship to remember the people around us.
'Nuff said.
