Birthday!

Woah.. another year has passed, and with it my birthday comes. Its passed already, and now I'm 21! Officially an adult. Oh man, this can get me started on another spate of reflections and thoughts, but what the heck, let's keep it light!

I had a party!

Yep, the birthday cake. I love Lana cakes man! They are the best. Haha.

I had invited my friends over for a small gathering, and most of them came! Blewky, the guys, MIC peeps, soc sci pple etc.. Thank you all so much for taking the time to come over and celebrate my birthday with me. Hope you all had fun, even though I was running around from group to group most of the time that I didn't get to really sit down and talk to each and everyone of you.

And thanks for all the presents too! Loved them. And they were all from my wishlist, so I got the stuff that I really needed, and that was the best part of it all. I've started using most of them now :)

Here's the list of credits: Thank you!

Blewky and the guys for the powerpoint birthday wishes! So ingenious lah.. I see you all haven't lost your touch.. hahaa.. and of course, the harddisk and the books.

MIC peeps for the lovely watch. I'm using it right now!

Nunu, Van and Ili for the nice bag

Charlene and Xiaoqian for the nice card, chocolates, wine and vouchers

Jinhan for er.. an angpao. LOL. (totally your style!)

Oh man, I really had fun seeing everyone there. And thanks to all who couldn't make it but still wished me happy birthday all the same, especially those who are overseas. Let's meet and catch up when u all get back! :)

-21 already.

Updates

Wah.. 2 posts at one go! I guess I caught the blogging bug again haha.

First things first, I LOVE BLEWKY! (Ok maybe Wini Bell and Yun more, since they are the ones who are doing stuff.. haha) Cos they are thinking abt my bday stuff already! And they chop the books le, so the others pls don't buy another set hor, thanks. :)

But stupid wini smsed me that day (and this is the exact words she used) "haha kkey! no one cares about your birthday! only me. haha.. and i care enough to tell you they don't care!" What a message full of twisted logic! Haha.. anyways, thanks lah, I know u all care.. hehe.. but that makes up for the times when u guys never celebrate mine and yun's birthdays!

And I met up with yun last week! So fun loh, we just sat down for dinner and started catching up like nobody's business. After that, we still went for dessert.. hahah.. I miss the days when we would just go out together and really feast, ordering and finishing (almost) all the food, then proceeding onto dessert. Let's make this a regular thing while we are still working near each other ok? And do tag on my blog lah, I know u do visit it sometimes.

Ok anyway this was just a random post to talk about blewky and scold wini for that sms.. lol. And where did chan eng disappear to again? *runs around and lifts everything in sight to search for her* Let's have a blewky outing soon hor.. someone *coughchanengcough* organize!

Infamous

I seem to be on a movie-watching spree lately, seeing as I have been watching on average 1 movie per week. High costs, considering I'm earning an intern's allowance.

Anyway, back to my thoughts on the movie. This is easily the best movie I have watched within this year. Probably can't even compare it this way, since the other movies I watched recently have been so lacklustre.

Let me give a background of this movie for starters. This can be seen as a "the making of" kind of movie, since it basically describes the experiences the author Truman Capote went through when researching for his book "In Cold Blood". He was captivated by a murder in a small Kansas town, and decided to write about it, in the process coming into contact with the 2 murderers.

Many people I know are not really interested in this kind of movies, since it is not of a lighthearted genre. But this movie really touched me. It wasted no time dawdling on useless scenes, and even all the words used were chosen carefully. All the actors were great, especially Daniel Craig, who played one of the murderers. (He's the new James Bond) He gave such a great performance that he was not just believable as the character, he WAS the person himself. After seeing this movie, I starting to think that he's under-utilized in James Bond. He brought the character to life, and I could feel the torment and confusion he was going through.

I really can't describe my thoughts about the movie in its entirety without describing the whole movie, and that would take so long. All I can say is that, all the characters came alive with the great acting and superb storytelling. The movie was a little less than 2 hours long, and it engaged me much more than the 2.5hr Pirates of the Carribbean. I'm afraid after this movie my expectations would only grow higher for the subsequent shows I watch.

I give this show 5 stars out of 5. Do watch it if you like thought-provoking stuff!
